The system allows passengers to use one card for payment on multiple public transportation operators – buses, trains, ferries, elevated railway, and taxis, which improves the operating efficiency of the urban public transportation network and enhances transit usage. So far only a few cities like Chicago and Hong Kong have adopted similar mass transit one-card systems for its public transportation.
Hua Hong Group is the first developer of such a system in China, which has been successfully applied to Shanghai Public Transportation Card Project. The system development involves designing and manufacturing of IC cards, production and application of POS machines, software development and system integration. After solving technological challenges at all development procedures, Hua Hong Group has cultivated its capabilities in exploring further application of its IC cards, which helps the company grow into a professional system supplier for urban and social informatization campaigns.
Hua Hong Group’s Mass Transit One-Card-Express System has now been implemented in public transportation card projects in the cities of Linfen in Shanxi Province, Beihai in Guangxi Province, Wuxi in Jiangsu Province, and Huainan in Anhui Province. It has also been selected for the Freeway Management and Information System in Shandong Province.
